Oliva Secures First PFAE for Children, Youth and Seniors

The Ayuntamiento de La Oliva has received, for the first time, a grant from the Servicio Canario de Empleo to launch a Project of Alternating Training with Employment (PFAE) in 2026.

Project Overview

The initiative, titled “PFAE Dinamizando La Oliva 2026,” aims to revitalize the municipality’s population, with special focus on three target groups: children, young people, and seniors. Activities will take place in open public spaces and across the town’s network of social, educational, and cultural centers, including:

  • Community‑cultural centers
  • The Casa de la Juventud (Youth House)
  • Municipal schools and libraries
  • The Centro de la Tercera Edad (Senior Center)

Training and Employment

The program will train and hire 15 unemployed residents, combining classroom instruction with hands‑on work experience to improve their prospects for sustainable employment.

Official Statements

“This grant represents a very important step for the municipality and reinforces the City Council’s commitment to employment and training as pillars of local development,” said Mayor Isaí Blanco.

“It is crucial to continue promoting active employment policies that create real opportunities for the town’s unemployed,” emphasized Councilor for Local Development and Personnel, Alexandra Martín.

Significance

The final resolution from the Servicio Canario de Empleo acknowledges the high quality and social relevance of La Oliva’s proposal, marking a new phase in the municipality’s management of training and employment programs.
