Orange alert for adverse coastal conditions in Fuerteventura

Caution is strongly advised along the coast, especially in the north and west of the island.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has updated the warning level for coastal phenomena on the island of Fuerteventura, as previously indicated could occur by Noticias Fuerteventura. At present, an orange warning—signifying a significant risk—has been issued.

A combined north‑west swell reaching 5 to 6 metres in height along the north and west coasts of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote has triggered this orange alert, adding to the coastal‑phenomena alert already announced by the General Directorate of Emergencies of the Canary Islands Government.

It is strongly recommended to exercise great caution in coastal areas throughout the island, particularly in the north and west.
