Over 30°C at 10 AM
The Heat Starts Strong in the North of the Island
In a day expected to be very hot, temperatures are already giving a warning in the north of the island, where 32 °C have been recorded in the Parque Holandés area.
Overall, temperatures are already approaching 30 °C across most of the island, with a very light easterly wind and calm seas to the east, and only small waves to the north and west—nowhere reaching a meter in height.
Caution is advised, as the heat will increasingly dominate Fuerteventura throughout the day, accompanied by a dust haze aloft that will further complicate matters.
Elderly people, infants, and pilgrims traveling from across the island to the sanctuary of the Virgin of La Peña in the Vega de Rio Palmas should take extra care.
