Pájara Closes Ajuy Caves Trail Due to Rough Seas
Remnants of Erin bring strong forces during Tuesday’s session
The municipality of Pájara has closed access to the Ajuy Caves, located in the coastal town of the same name, because of strong sea conditions in the area. The precautionary measure was taken in anticipation of heavy surf, especially at high tide at 16:20. The waves are the result of the powerful system in the North Atlantic that the former Hurricane Erin, now a tropical storm, is bringing. Erin is currently positioned off the western coast of Great Britain, but its influence is strong enough to reach the islands as a western swell.
