.# The Pájara City Council Reports Serious Sabotage in Costa Calma
The assault on the pumping station and the simultaneous ignition of three fire attempts coincide, according to the council, with the demolition of dilapidated buildings in the palm grove.
A press release issued by the Ayuntamiento de Pájara warns that recent acts of sabotage have jeopardized public health in the Costa Calma area.
Pumping‑station attack: A few days ago, unidentified individuals broke into the Palace water‑pumping station (EBAP), forced open the electrical cabinet, shattered its housing and rewired the pump phases. The aim was to cut off the water supply to the local population.
Simultaneous fire attempts: At the same time, three separate fire ignitions were set off simultaneously within the palm grove. Rapid response by the Pájara fire brigade succeeded in extinguishing the flames.
Ongoing demolition work: The council notes that it has been carrying out demolition of unsafe structures in the palm grove for several weeks, a measure intended to reduce fire risk and improve citizen safety.
These serious offenses, which threaten public health, occurred while the municipal government continues to dismantle the deteriorated buildings located in the palm grove.
The incidents have already been reported to the police, and an investigation has been launched to identify and prosecute those responsible.
