Pájara guarantees daycare service in Costa Calma
The City Council reassures residents and confirms the continuity of the municipal daycare in Costa Calma
The Pájara City Council reassures the population and guarantees the continuity of the municipal daycare in the locality of Costa Calma after the Provincial Court of Las Palmas issued a ruling ordering the council to evict the municipal daycare.
The governing group assures that the service will continue to be provided with total normality and that the council will file an appeal before the Supreme Court in order to exhaust the judicial route and defend public interests.
It also emphasizes that, regardless of the judicial course of the procedure, the council will take any necessary actions to guarantee the continuity of the daycare service in Costa Calma and to offer stability and peace of mind to the municipality’s families.
The Pájara City Council further states that there is absolutely no problem with the contractor with whom it is in litigation. However, the actions taken follow the recommendations and instructions of the municipal legal services, which have advised filing the aforementioned appeal to safeguard public interests and explore all available legal avenues.
In this sense, the governing group insists that the judicial process has not concluded and that there remains the possibility of resolving the matter before the Supreme Court. Therefore, following the technical and legal criteria of the council, the decision has been made to continue the process until its definitive resolution.
Meanwhile, the Department of Daycare Centers and Infant Schools has already begun the enrollment process for the 2026‑2027 school year, sending a clear message of calm and normality to the families that use the service.
