Pájara Seniors Take Silver at the 2025 Regional Neurolympics

The senior teams from Fuerteventura that qualified for Neuromajo 2025 took part this weekend in the regional finals of the Neurolympics, where the 16 teams selected from the six island tournaments compete.

The competing squads were:

  • Camellito (Tuineje)
  • Las Elegidas (Antigua)
  • Las Apañás (Puerto del Rosario)
  • Amigos de Pájara (Pájara)

The competition was held at the El Tablero Sports Pavilion in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria. Amigos de Pájara, representing the municipality of Pájara, were crowned runners‑up of the 2025 Neurolympics.

During the event it was announced that Pájara will host the regional final in the 2026 edition. The Neurolympic Association presented the Neurolympic scepter to the Councillor for Social Action, Víctor Alonso, and the commemorative flag to the mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jorge, as symbols of the competition’s continuity.

“We are already working on the 2026 edition of Neuromajo, a project of the Social Action Department of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, in collaboration with the six municipal councils of the island and the Neurolympic Association. It has become a solid initiative for active and healthy ageing of all participants,” said Councillor Víctor Alonso.

The President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola García, and Councillor Víctor Alonso congratulated the nearly 300 senior participants from the island who took part in Neuromajo 2025, as well as the teams that competed in the final in Gran Canaria.

The 2025 edition of NeuroMajo also received support from Padilla Supermercados Spar.
