Official statements
“It is a concrete but necessary action that directly improves the daily use of our sports facilities, especially in a municipality where exposure to the sun is constant,” said Alexis Alonso, Councilor for Urbanism, Works and Technical Office.
“From our department we continue working on interventions that, while not large‑scale projects, have an immediate impact.”
“This initiative responds to the demand of football enthusiasts in Morro Jable and Pájara, who will finally have shade—particularly for families supporting their children in this sport,” emphasized José Benito Alonso, Councilor for Sports.
Mayor Alejandro Jorge confirmed that the new pergolas, together with other recent improvements, “represent a commitment to the continuous enhancement of our sports facilities, meeting a clear request from the public that we wanted to address.”
Commitment to sport and health
With the installation of these shelters, the Pájara council reaffirms its dedication to promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle, ensuring that local sports venues remain safe, accessible, and comfortable for all residents.
