Person rescued after falling into Calderón Hondo

After being rescued, the individual was airlifted by helicopter to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.

The Local Police of La Oliva intervened on the morning of Friday, January 2, in the Calderón Hondo area after receiving a report of a person who had slipped into the volcano of the same name.

When the patrol arrived, an ambulance from the Emergency Service (SUC), Civil Protection units, and the La Oliva fire brigade were already on site, having located the victim at the summit of the volcano.

The officers worked together with Civil Protection, providing rescue equipment and actively assisting in the immobilization and safe descent of the victim to the base of the volcano.

Subsequently, a helicopter from the Emergency Services Group (GES) transferred the person to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.

The operation concluded after the victim was correctly identified, with assistance from her companion.
