Phone operators expand 4G and 5G in Pájara

The Pájara City Council released a press note from Llega700, the entity responsible for deploying next‑generation mobile services and ensuring their compatibility with terrestrial digital television (TDT). The company assures that coverage will improve inside buildings and across a larger geographic area.

Mobile operators Telefónica, Vodafone and Orange have announced that, over the coming weeks, they will begin installing next‑generation mobile services—4G and 5G—in Pájara on the 800 MHz and 700 MHz bands. Residents will soon enjoy high‑speed mobile connections with better indoor penetration and a broader territorial reach.

To guarantee that the new technology does not interfere with TDT reception, the operators have created Llega700, which will address any signal‑reception issues, the City Council explained in its statement.

The rollout is being carried out gradually throughout the national territory. A map showing the municipalities where the services are already active can be consulted via the link provided by Llega700.

The deployment follows the provisions of Royal Decree 579/2019 (dated 11 October), which freed the 694–790 MHz spectrum (UHF channels 49‑60) previously used for terrestrial digital television—a process known as the Second Digital Dividend. Those frequencies have since been reassigned to mobile operators for next‑generation mobile services.

Advantages and Coverage

  • The new mobile network opens the door to innovative services and applications, delivering significant improvements in download and upload speeds for photos, music, high‑definition video, and online gaming.
  • It resolves two major limitations of previous networks:
    1. Geographical challenges – the network overcomes coverage gaps caused by Spain’s complex terrain.
    2. Indoor penetration – the signal reaches deeper inside buildings.
  • Businesses and public administrations will benefit from new mobile‑enabled services, such as multimedia‑rich enterprise apps and high‑quality video calls.
  • Deploying on the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands ensures enhanced indoor service and allows the network to extend efficiently across the region.

Compatibility of the New Mobile Network and TDT

Llega700 acts as the managing entity that guarantees compatibility between the rollout of 4G and 5G on the 800 MHz and 700 MHz bands and the continued reception of TDT.

To safeguard this compatibility, Llega700 offers citizens a range of free services, including a corrective procedure that is triggered after new base stations are activated. The organization will assist affected users, handling and resolving any reception issues at no cost.
