Police Arrest Organized Trafficking Ring in Puerto del Rosario
Four young individuals, aged 23‑28, operating under an organized structure in the island’s capital, were detained.
Details of the Operation
Agents of the National Police arrested four young people—two brothers and their respective partners—in a crackdown on drug trafficking and criminal organization in Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura.
The investigation began on 5 April after police caught a 23‑year‑old in a prefabricated container manufacturing crack, according to the National Police. Following that arrest, officers traced a network involved in the acquisition, preparation and distribution of cocaine, crack and hashish.
Investigators found that the suspects:
- Regularly used vehicles to transport drugs and to meet other traffickers, acting as an intermediate link in the criminal hierarchy.
- Operated from two residences that were later searched.
Seized Assets
- 3,651 g of hashish
- 1,066 g of cocaine
- 445 g of marijuana
- 47 anabolic pills
- €39,164 in cash
- Bladed weapons
- Equipment and utensils for cutting and weighing drugs
- Two vehicles used for distribution
After the raids, the detainees were handed over to the competent judicial authority, which ordered the immediate imprisonment of the two principal suspects.
The National Police consider the drug‑trafficking network dismantled, having eliminated two active points of sale in Puerto del Rosario.
