Police identify culprit behind abandonment and death of four puppies in Parque Holandés

Survivors are now with their mother, who is only one day old

Animal‑rights groups and the La Oliva shelter report that local police have located the individual who allegedly abandoned five puppies in a clothing container at Parque Holandés, leading to the death of four of them.

“At this moment, both the mother and her puppies are safe at the shelter. The mother is an extremely affectionate and gentle dog with everyone,” the shelter wrote on its social media.

“However, the shelter is not the most suitable place for a mother with newborns to rest and recover, so we urgently need a temporary foster home for this family,” the organization added in a statement.

“We will cover all veterinary and care expenses,” the note concluded.
