Police identify minors after Halloween vandalism in Morro Jable
Pájara council will assess the damage and seek repair costs after vandals damaged streetlights, bins and bus windows in Morro Jable on Halloween night.
Police have identified several minors suspected of vandalism in Morro Jable on Halloween night, 31 October 2026, according to Pájara council.
The damage included broken streetlights, burnt rubbish bins and bus windows damaged by stones. The council condemned the incidents. They affected street furniture and other property in the town in southern Fuerteventura.
Pájara Local Police and the Guardia Civil worked together to identify the suspects. All those identified were under age. Their parents have been contacted.
Council to seek repair costs
In a report published by Onda Fuerteventura on 3 November, the council said it would assess the damage. It would also lodge the relevant complaints to try to recover the repair costs. No total repair bill was given.
The council thanked residents for their help. It gave special thanks to neighbours in Morro Jable who held one of the young people until Local Police officers arrived.
The council said damage to shared property affects the wider community, not just those responsible. It thanked both police forces for their response and called for respect for public spaces.
