President Sánchez answers Trump with a “no to war”

The war against Iran turns into a commercial war with anyone who claims disagreement

The Spanish prime minister appeared this morning to reply to Donald Trump, who yesterday claimed to have ordered the breaking of commercial ties with Spain. Pedro Sánchez responded with a “no to war” that already generated a broad political current during the Iraq war.

“The world has been here before. Twenty‑three years ago, another U.S. administration led us into an unjust war. The Iraq war caused a drastic rise in terrorism, a severe migration and economic crisis. That was the gift of the Azores trio, a more insecure world and a worse life,” he emphasized.

Sánchez has firmly maintained a clear stance against the war of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. He has revived a new “no to war” to position himself as the great antagonist of the U.S. president.

“Spain’s position is the same as in Ukraine or Gaza. No to the breach of an international right that protects us all. No to solving conflicts with bombs. No to war.”
