PSOE denies Paloma Hernández's mayoral candidacy in the capital
The Municipal Group of the PSOE in Puerto del Rosario has categorically refuted recent reports suggesting that Senator Paloma Hernández Cerezo would be the party’s candidate for mayor in the upcoming municipal elections.
In a formal statement issued in response to media speculation on the island, the local socialist organization emphasized that the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) follows clear, transparent and democratic internal procedures for selecting candidates, and these procedures must be respected scrupulously.
“Any decision related to the forthcoming elections will be taken in the times and in the manner established by the party’s governing bodies, not through external speculation,” the PSOE declared.
The statement also took the opportunity to commend Senator Hernández for her ongoing work, noting that “her dedication and commitment to Fuerteventura and to Puerto del Rosario exemplify the public service ethos that defines the Socialist Party.”
The PSOE of Puerto del Rosario reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, participation and respect for internal processes, which it described as the fundamental pillars of the organization.
