Puerto del Rosario Local Police Adds Four New Officers

After completing their internship period, the four new members of the force took office at the City Hall and are now fully integrated into the municipal staff as career civil servants.

The Puerto del Rosario City Council incorporated four new Local Police officers on Monday. Having successfully completed their internship, they are now permanent members of the municipal workforce.

The swearing‑in ceremony was held in the plenary hall of the City Hall, attended by Mayor David de Vera, Councilor for Personnel María Franco, senior police officials and other municipal representatives.

In a press release, the council emphasized that the capital municipality is continuing to strengthen the human resources of its Security department, in line with the governing coalition’s commitment to provide a service that is closer, more efficient, and better adapted to citizens’ needs.

“Each new addition to the Local Police translates into a direct improvement in the care and safety of our neighbors. Our officers do far more than traffic control or patrols; they are an active part of daily life in Puerto del Rosario, assisting in emergencies, public events, and enforcing the ordinances that help us live together more harmoniously,” said Mayor David de Vera.

Councilor for Personnel María Franco highlighted the importance of collaborative work across departments to reinforce municipal services:

“We are continuing to stabilize and expand public staffing, promoting stable, quality employment. These four officers exemplify the effort, training, and commitment to public service that we aim to foster throughout every area of the City Hall,” she noted.

The City Council is also modernising the Local Police’s technical equipment, gradually introducing new vehicles and advanced tools, including drones. These technologies are expected to enhance response times and efficiency when dealing with incidents, thereby delivering a higher level of service to the community.
