Puerto del Rosario Seeks Owners to Revive Vacant Shops

The Puerto del Rosario City Council has launched a new initiative aimed directly at owners of empty storefronts in the municipality’s open commercial zones, with the goal of facilitating rentals and re‑energizing these spaces.

Through the Smart Commerce project, in partnership with the contracted firm Redflexión, the council is identifying unused premises and offering a completely free boost package. The package includes image improvement, signage, and inclusion in an online directory where the properties can be seen by potential tenants.

The initiative targets owners whose premises are closed or who are considering leasing them, providing concrete tools to make the spaces more attractive and competitive in the market. Business ideas tailored to each location are also proposed, helping future entrepreneurs visualize possible uses from the outset.

“What we want is to activate those premises that are currently closed and turn them into real opportunities. We are giving owners direct, cost‑free support so they can rent their spaces more easily and with greater certainty,” said Mayor David de Vera.

“We want anyone with a vacant space to know they can count on this project. We help them improve their image, give them visibility on a dedicated website, and, ultimately, make it easier to find tenants. It’s a practical and very concrete tool,” explained Tacoremi Gutiérrez, Councilor for Commerce.

The City Council emphasizes that the program is a municipal initiative, developed within a structured project and backed by all necessary guarantees, aiming to reassure any concerned parties.
