Puerto del Rosario upgrades 4G and 5G coverage

The capital reminds residents of the free service for possible TDT (digital terrestrial television) incidents

The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has announced the upcoming activation of a new 4G and 5G mobile antenna in the municipality. The installation will enhance connectivity, increase browsing speeds, and expand mobile coverage across most of the municipal territory.

The deployment uses the 700 MHz and 800 MHz frequency bands, which were previously allocated to Digital Terrestrial Television (TDT). Consequently, some residents may experience temporary issues receiving certain television channels.

Possible disruptions could affect the entire municipality, excluding the localities of Los Molinos, Almácigo, La Ampuyenta, Los Llanos de la Concepción, and Las Parcelas.

“Improving telecommunications infrastructure is essential to keep reducing inequalities in access to connectivity and to offer a better service to both residents and businesses in the municipality. Today, having good mobile coverage is no longer a secondary concern; it is part of everyday life,” said Mayor David de Vera.

“Residents should be reassured that any potential TV‑signal problems are covered by a free assistance protocol for affected households,” the mayor added.

Councilor for New Technologies Rosa Rodríguez explained:

“Deployments like this improve indoor coverage in buildings and increase mobile connection capacity in various parts of the municipality.”
“It is important that citizens know that if they detect problems with TDT reception, they only need to report it so a specialized technical service can inspect the issue at no cost.”

Residents experiencing TV‑signal problems should contact the toll‑free number 900 833 999 or use the website Llega700. After the report, a technical team will verify whether the dwelling is affected and, if necessary, a technician will visit the home to install a filter that restores proper TV reception.

The City Council also reminds that, in the case of condominium owners, the communication must be made by the community’s president or administrator.
