Puerto PSOE denies Paloma Hernández will head the capital's candidate list

The municipal grouping, led by Tacoremi Gutiérrez, says the decision will be taken by the party’s bodies “in due time and form.”

The socialists of Puerto del Rosario reacted strongly to a report by Fuerteventura F.M. that claimed Senator Paloma Hernández Cerezo was the PSOE’s candidate to lead its list in the capital.

“The Municipal Grouping of the PSOE of Puerto del Rosario refutes the information about a supposed candidacy of Paloma Hernández Cerezo,” the statement reads.

The notice is notably brief, and the original article that mentioned who would head the list has since disappeared from the outlet’s website.

Adherence to Procedure

The municipal group emphasizes that the PSOE has clear, transparent, and democratic internal procedures for selecting candidates, which must be scrupulously respected.

“Any decision regarding the upcoming elections will be made in the times and forms established by the party’s organs, and not through external speculation,” the statement adds, subtly accusing the digital outlet of speculating with its information and sources.

Praise for the Senator

The communiqué also takes the opportunity to thank Senator Hernández for her work and commitment to both Fuerteventura and Puerto del Rosario, describing her efforts as a model of public service that defines the Socialist Party.

“We want to acknowledge the important work currently carried out by Senator Paloma Hernández, whose dedication to Fuerteventura and Puerto del Rosario exemplifies the public service that characterises the Socialist Party.”
