Official statements
Lola García, President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, said: “It is an honour to present a new edition of the fair, which was created to promote reading on the island and has become a cultural reference in the Canary Islands. It gives a boost to local creation, to our authors, to bookstores and to dialogue with professionals from Fuerteventura.”
Rayco León, Councillor for Culture, added: “We will host encounters with first‑level writers, offering direct contact with readers – a key part of the magic of a book fair – and activities across different disciplines such as music, dance and poetry.”
David de Vera, Mayor of Puerto del Rosario, congratulated the Cabildo on the excellent programme and affirmed the municipality’s willingness to keep collaborating with this flagship event that has become a staple of the island’s cultural agenda.
Javier Santos, director of the Banda de la Escuela Insular de Música, will also take part in the inaugural show.
