SCS awards €9.9 million contract for new Corralejo II Health Center
The Health Department of the Canary Islands Government, through the General Directorate of Economic Resources of the Canary Health Service (SCS), has formalised the contract for building the new Corralejo II Dunas Health Center in Fuerteventura.
The project has been awarded for a total amount of €9,924,754.45 (including IGIC) and is co‑financed by the European Union through the 2021‑2027 Canary Islands European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
Timeline and Execution
The contract, signed on Tuesday 5 May, sets a 23‑month execution period. Work can start only after the “act of verification of the layout” is signed, which must occur within one month of the contract date.
When construction is completed, the building will carry a one‑year warranty.
“The construction of the new centre responds to the need to reinforce health care in the Basic Health Zone of La Oliva, due to the population growth recorded in recent years. The current centre, after several extensions and renovations, has reached its growth limit,” said Tomás Pérez, Director of the Fuerteventura Health Area.
The tender was approved in December 2025 through an open procedure, and the final award was resolved on 1 April.
