Sea swell rises, full moon ahead this Thursday
The government declares a PRE‑ALERT with waves that could exceed 3 meters in height
Sea conditions will intensify starting tomorrow, and combined with a cycle of spring tides caused by the full moon, the Canary Islands government has activated a pre‑alert for coastal phenomena in Fuerteventura and several other Canary Islands.
The situation is, as always, more severe on the north and west coasts of Fuerteventura, where waves over three meters high could be recorded. The risk peaks at the high tides, expected at 01:17 and 13:38 on Thursday, and at 02:01 and 14:26 on Friday.
Authorities recommend exercising great caution in areas near these coasts, and generally across the entire island of Fuerteventura. For the weekend, a strong southerly (trade) wind is also forecast, with temperatures remaining stable around 27 °C.
