Set Design, Scriptwriting, and Sound Post-Production: New Courses from the Fuerteventura Film Commission
The courses are taught by professionals with acclaimed careers in nationally and internationally significant films.
Program Overview
The Fuerteventura Film Commission (FFC) has unveiled its 2026 training programme, comprising a series of courses and workshops aimed at industry professionals and newcomers to the audiovisual sector. The curriculum is divided into two blocks, introducing for the first time in Fuerteventura a set of specialised training actions delivered by instructors with extensive experience in series and feature films of both national and international relevance.
“The audiovisual industry’s potential in Fuerteventura has been more than proven in recent years,” explained Lola García, President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
“So far in 2026 the island has already hosted three film productions—both domestic and foreign—and two feature films and a series are scheduled for shooting before June. It is therefore essential to keep training our professionals with specialised courses that match industry demands, generating jobs and direct benefits for our local economy,” she added.
Nereida Calero, Councillor for the FFC, highlighted the long‑standing commitment of the commission to education for both seasoned professionals and aspiring entrants.
“In recent years Fuerteventura has experienced a shift in its production model: the island is increasingly chosen to host complete or largely complete productions, which raises the demand for local talent,” she noted.
Education and Youth Councillor Adargoma Hernández attended the presentation, where the first block of courses—scheduled for May, June and July at the Palacio de Formación y Congresos de Fuerteventura—was announced.
