Six Adapted Taxi Licenses Granted in La Oliva

The council continues to advance the modernization of the taxi system, “advocating for a more accessible, efficient, and needs‑based transport model.”

The La Oliva City Council has approved the awarding of six new auto‑taxi licenses intended for vehicles adapted for people with reduced mobility (PRM), a measure that represents a significant step forward in accessibility, inclusion, and the improvement of public transport services in the municipality.

This action, approved by the municipal plenary after the completion of the corresponding administrative procedure, will strengthen the fleet of accessible taxis, responding to a growing demand for adapted mobility from both residents and visitors.

“We continue working to build a more inclusive municipality, where all people, regardless of their abilities, can move with autonomy and dignity. These new licenses represent a firm step in that direction and reinforce our commitment to equal opportunities.”
— Isaí Blanco, Mayor of La Oliva

Transport councilor Julio Santana added:

“The inclusion of these six adapted taxis markedly improves service quality and expands coverage throughout the municipality. Moreover, a rigorous and transparent process was carried out for the award, assessing the applicants’ experience and professional track record.”

The procedure included the evaluation of applications, the resolution of objections, and the preparation of a final award list based on objective criteria such as seniority in the sector, thereby guaranteeing equitable access to these licenses.

With this measure, the La Oliva City Council continues to advance the modernization of the taxi service, betting on a more accessible, efficient, and needs‑based transport model for citizens.

Furthermore, the awardees must meet the established requirements and submit the vehicles for inspection before they become operational, ensuring that the service meets all quality and safety guarantees.

The City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to a more accessible, sustainable, and people‑focused municipality.
