Storm Regina to Bring Strong Waves and Intense Winds to Fuerteventura in Coming Hours

The low‑pressure system Regina will be positioned northeast of Lanzarote in the next few hours and will once again bring Fuerteventura an episode of unstable weather marked by very strong winds, rain and abundant background sea.

According to forecasts, the deterioration will begin to be noticeable from this evening‑night, when wind intensity and wave height will increase along the Majorero coastline. Caution is advised in coastal zones, especially in the north and south of the island, where the sea may produce heavy breaking and dangerous conditions.

The wind episode will be especially intense during the early hours of Wednesday, with gusts that could affect a large part of the island.

Given the situation, residents are urged to:

  • Secure objects on terraces and rooftops.
  • Avoid walking in areas exposed to the swell.
  • Pay close attention to official meteorological information over the next hours.

Fuerteventura is therefore preparing for a new period of instability linked to Regina, with wind and sea taking center stage.
