Storm’s tail to bring heavy rain to Fuerteventura from Wednesday

Strong southwest winds and possible thunderstorms will accompany localized showers with the potential for heavy downpours.

All weather models announce a deep intrusion of an Atlantic low‑pressure system over the islands starting Wednesday, expected to linger for about 30 hours. This points to a high likelihood that Fuerteventura will experience localized heavy rain and widespread drizzle, especially on Thursday.

The showers will be accompanied by strong west‑southwest winds, which will make the days very unpleasant; thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Sea conditions will also deteriorate, with waves exceeding three metres from the south‑southwest, entire coastline to significant swell. Caution is advised along the shore.
