Talentón Returns to Fuerteventura to Boost Youth Talent and Innovation

The El Talentón program will be held again in Fuerteventura with a new edition aimed at fostering ingenuity, creativity, and entrepreneurship among the island’s young people.

The official presentation took place on Wednesday at the Insular Youth Center of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, where details of the initiative were unveiled. This marks the third edition in the Canary Islands and the second on the island of Fuerteventura.

The 2026 edition will bring together 50 young participants on May 15 for an intensive day that combines training, team‑working dynamics, mentorship, and the development of real projects linked to the island’s territory.

“It is essential to invest in projects like this to create opportunities for our youth and move toward a more diversified and sustainable economic model,” said Lola García, President of the Cabildo.

“El Talentón connects young people with companies, mentors, and investors, helping them turn ideas into projects with genuine development potential,” noted Adargoma Hernández, Councillor for Education and Youth.

From the organization’s side, Estefanía Castro explained that participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to solve challenges related to Fuerteventura, emphasizing skills such as leadership, creativity, and communication.

The program will culminate in a final presentation of projects before real investors, accompanied by a voting system that also involves the public. The winning team will advance to the regional final in September on La Palma, where they can compete for funding to develop their proposal.

Key innovations in this edition include the introduction of popular voting, a final pitch before investors, and greater media exposure through audiovisual content and broadcast on Televisión Canaria.

Additionally, during the regional final, a team will be selected to travel to China as part of the program, aiming to explore new forms of innovation and business development.

With this initiative, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura reaffirms its commitment to training, employability, and the development of young talent on the island.
