Temperatures could hit 34°C this Sunday
Yellow Alert from AEMET for Island Temperatures
A sharp rise in temperatures is expected this Sunday, with some areas of Fuerteventura potentially hitting 34 °C. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has therefore issued a yellow alert for the islands of Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and Gran Canaria.
All indications suggest that the alert will remain in force on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures unusually high for this time of year. In addition, a strong African heat intrusion will bring a dust haze (calima) that starts on Saturday and intensifies over the following three days.
Precautions:
- Avoid prolonged exposure during the peak midday hours.
- Pay special attention to the elderly, infants, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
- Be aware of the heightened ultraviolet radiation risk.
