The bulk of the storm’s first wave is expected on the night
Strong southeast winds will be felt with greater intensity in the north and west of Fuerteventura (forecast image at 23:00 on the 1st).
The first phase of the storm Francis, known locally as Cathaysa, will arrive on Thursday night, although light drizzle is possible during the day.
From 20:00 h onward, southwest winds will begin to strengthen, bringing dense cloud cover that will release rain across almost the entire island. A significant amount of electrical activity is expected.
During the second part of Friday, the system will pass again, producing widespread showers that are likely to continue at least until Sunday, when Cathaysa moves out of the area. The storm will leave the atmosphere very humid and temperatures noticeably cool.
