The “I’m in Charge in Venezuela” Protectorate Is Finalized

Donald Trump confirms in an interview that there will be no new elections in the South American country.

Donald Trump told NBC early this morning that there will be no elections in Venezuela for the next thirty days, as the law provides in the event of a forced replacement of the head of state.

He also stated that his administration will act as a guardian for the country while it rebuilds the oil sector—a task he estimates will take 18 months. During that period, a team of his national‑security advisers will coordinate Venezuelan governance, but he made clear that the ultimate responsibility will remain with him.

In an interview with NBC, two days after the “Absolute Resolution” operation, Washington announced it would engage with the new head of state, acting president Delcy Rodríguez.

“We have to fix the country first. Elections cannot be held. There’s no way for people to vote,” the president said. “It will take a certain amount of time. We need to restore health to the nation.”

“Maybe we can finish it sooner, but it will cost a lot of money,” he added. “We’ll have to spend an enormous sum, which the oil companies will provide, but they’ll recover it through revenues or see it returned by us.”

“MAGA (Make America Great Again) loves it. MAGA loves what I do. MAGA loves everything I do,” he declared. Channeling a modern‑day Louis XIV, he proclaimed: “MAGA is me.” “MAGA loves everything I do, and I love everything I do.”
