Three helicopters, drones and maritime units search for missing teen in Lanzarote

The search efforts have not yielded positive results so far, but the operation will remain active throughout the day.

The search operation for the missing young man in the Los Charcones area of the Yaiza municipality resumed on Tuesday with a broad deployment of aerial, land and maritime resources, after the previous day’s efforts concluded without positive results.

According to the emergency coordination, three helicopters were added this morning:

  • One from the Civil Guard
  • One from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Canary Islands Government
  • One medicalized helicopter of the 1‑1‑2 Canary Islands service

The aircraft will rotate throughout the day to maintain constant aerial coverage over the search zone.

Two drones are also participating:

  • A Local Police drone operating around Punta Pechiguera
  • A drone from the Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium, focused on the exact location of the incident

At sea, Maritime Rescue conducts sweeps both offshore and close to the coastline, tracking the stretch between Pechiguera and the incident area. Firefighters equipped with a watercraft are also involved.

On land, the operation includes Civil Guard agents, firefighters, and volunteers from Yaiza Civil Protection, who continue to comb the accesses and trails near the coast.

For now, the search has not produced any positive findings, but the deployment will stay active for the remainder of the day. Authorities have pledged to keep the public informed of any relevant developments.
