Trade winds promise a windy March

The Anticyclone Settles Over the Azores and Will Send the Traditional North‑Northeast Wind

Starting this Friday, wind will pick up again on Fuerteventura, though only moderately, and all models indicate it will persist for at least two weeks.

  • Moderate to occasionally strong northeast winds will bring variable cloud cover, mainly affecting the northwest, west, and southeast coasts of the island, with occasional gusts on the eastern side.
  • Inland, the wind will be milder.

The swell will remain present across almost the entire island, with wave heights ranging from the northwest to the north, impacting nearly all coastal areas.

Overall, the forecast points to a windy March, with possible light rain due to the moisture carried by the trade winds, especially in the northern part of the islands.
