Trump orders reopening of Venezuela's airspace

From this Sunday the restrictions are lifted “to ensure safety”

The United States lifted on Sunday the restrictions on Caribbean airspace that had been imposed on Saturday following the military operation over Venezuela in which President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured.

“Flights can resume. Airlines have been notified and will soon update their schedules,” announced U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on his X account, specifying that the restrictions would be lifted from 6:00 a.m. Spanish time (05:00 GMT).

“To ensure safety”

On Saturday, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration restricted airspace over the Caribbean and Venezuela “to ensure passenger safety.”

“When appropriate, these airspace restrictions will be lifted. Please contact your airline directly if your flight has been affected,” Duffy wrote on the same platform, concluding with “May God bless President Trump and the United States Army.”
