Tuineje to Host Inaugural Agrofuer on Sept. 5‑6
The historic centre of Tuineje will host Agrofuer on September 5 and 6, an event aimed at revitalising the island’s interior economy by promoting local products, traditional crafts, and Fuerteventura’s cultural heritage.
The fair is organised by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the island’s Chamber of Commerce, following the signing of an agreement on 6 August. Its purpose is to link tourism growth with the development of rural communities.
Programme Highlights
- Live music performances throughout both days.
- Gastronomy featuring island chefs who will work with locally‑sourced Majorero ingredients.
- A market of local products showcasing the best of Fuerteventura’s produce.
- Cultural activities and workshops, including two traditional‑technique workshops open to the public.
- A dedicated space for Fuerteventura artisans, highlighting their craftsmanship.
“Agrofuer is conceived as a meeting point for residents and visitors, with the aim of valuing the land’s products and the primary‑sector work that has shaped the island’s landscape and flavours,” the island corporation said in a press release.
The initiative forms part of the “Fuerte por Naturaleza” programme, funded by EU Next Generation funds.
The event will take place in the Plaza of the Church of San Miguel Arcángel in Tuineje, turning the town’s historic heart into a vibrant hub for local food, music, and craftsmanship.
