Two Women Investigated for Luxury Perfume Theft at Fuerteventura Airport

Agents from the Fiscal Section of Fuerteventura Airport, operating under the functional authority of the Customs Administrator and the Tax Agency’s Inspection and Enforcement Service, are investigating two women for an alleged theft offense in airport shops.

The Civil Guard opened a police investigation after the affected company reported a series of high‑end perfume robberies that occurred in a restricted area of the airport.

The company provided clear CCTV footage showing two young women removing products valued at €1,850.

Through meticulous analysis of the recordings and a review of access‑control logs, security forces identified the suspected perpetrators, who were traveling as passengers on a flight bound for Tenerife North, according to a statement from the Civil Guard.

  • The women accessed the restricted zone using valid boarding passes, despite having only a few minutes before their flight, indicating a planned and efficient operation.
  • After passing security checks, they quickly moved to the retail outlets, discreetly stealing branded perfumes while blending in with the passenger flow and exploiting the trusted airport environment.

The Fiscal and Border Section of Fuerteventura Airport ordered police proceedings for the alleged theft, which were subsequently taken over by the UDAIFF unit at Tenerife South Airport— the closest authority to the suspects’ residence.

The investigative files have been forwarded to the competent Judicial Authority for further action.
