Urban Lookouts: 13 Tourist Spots to Enjoy Pájara’s Landscapes

From Ajuy to the Atlantic Viewpoint, passing through Altavista or El Cantil, the Pájara City Council has unveiled the Urban Viewpoints Route, featuring 13 points of interest with detailed access information on the municipal tourism website.

The municipality of Pájara now offers a new resource for visitors: the Urban Viewpoints Route, an initiative promoted by the Heritage and Tourism departments to highlight the town’s urban landscapes. The project digitizes 13 locations spread across the southern part of Fuerteventura, aiming to enhance scenic beauty and diversify the tourism offer.

In a press release, the City Council outlined the general guidelines of the route, which can serve both tourists and residents in discovering the scenery and hidden gems of the municipality’s villages.

13 Landscapes on the Pájara Viewpoints Route

The route includes stops at:

  • Ajuy Caves
  • Pájara town centre
  • La Pared
  • Atlantic Viewpoint
  • Granillo Beach
  • Esquinzo
  • Vinamar Ravine
  • Church of Our Lady of Carmen
  • Altavista
  • El Cantil
  • Los Atolladeros
  • A dedicated point for Local Poets

For more information and to learn how and where to access each viewpoint, the City Council has created a dedicated section on the municipal tourism portal: visitjandia.es.

“We expect a significant influx of people and, in this way, we will give tourism a different perspective. We want to go beyond sun, beach, climate or gastronomy; now we are incorporating the urban landscape as a key element,” said Mayor and Heritage Councilor Alejandro Jorge.
“During the recent holidays the towns received a high number of visitors; we aim to achieve the same success with this new route,” he added.

“The goal is for the tourist who visits us and the local citizen of the municipality and the island to share the same experience,” emphasized Tina Da Silva, Tourism Councilor. “We will launch dynamisation actions to make the route even more attractive and encourage higher attendance.”
“The towns are being beautified daily and progressively, and this project is essential because, together with other routes, it contributes to the protection and promotion of our heritage,” she continued.
