Woman Rescued from the Sea Dies in Caleta de Fuste

The tragic incident occurred around midday in the tourist town of Antigua.

A woman passed away after being rescued from the sea in cardiac arrest at 13:14 in Caleta de Fuste.

According to emergency services:

• At the reported time, the Coordinating Center of Emergencies and Security (112) of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert that a woman had been pulled from the water in cardiac arrest and was being attended by the beach lifeguard.
• The 112 center immediately deployed the necessary emergency resources.
• Upon arrival, the SUC (Emergency Coordination Unit) personnel continued both basic and advanced resuscitation maneuvers, but the efforts were unsuccessful, confirming the victim’s death.
