Yellow Alert for Coastal Phenomena Tuesday and Wednesday
Waves over five metres high in the north and west of Fuerteventura
After the passage of the Emilia low‑pressure system across the archipelago, AEMET has issued a new alert—a yellow warning for adverse coastal phenomena affecting Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
Combined sea conditions from the north or northwest are expected to produce waves 4‑5 metres high around the island of Fuerteventura, and authorities advise against approaching the coast on either side of the island.
The situation will also be accompanied by strong north winds and a general drop in temperatures, with the possibility of intermittent drizzle.
