Yellow alert for the Lanzarote Quemao class
Competition window from February 21‑24 to select the best days
The Lanzarote Quemao Class has issued a yellow alert for its 9th edition, moving toward the staging of one of the most renowned surf and bodyboard events on the international calendar.
The dates under consideration are February 21, 22, 23 and 24. From these four days, the two with the most favorable conditions will be chosen, ensuring the challenge and spectacle that define this international competition.
A total of 64 athletes—32 surfers and 32 bodyboarders—are ready to converge on La Santa. The lineup for this edition will feature prominent names from the global scene alongside a strong local representation, all set to tackle one of Europe’s most demanding waves.
Prior to the competition, the Lanzarote Quemao Class will pay tribute to David Infante “El Fula,” whose memory the event honors. The community of La Santa, the surfing fraternity, and the competitors themselves will commemorate the late surfer.
As in previous editions, the event operates under a colour‑coded alert system:
- Orange alert – waiting period.
- Yellow alert (currently active) – a provisional competition window subject to weather forecasts.
- Green alert – official competition dates confirmed.
All up‑to‑date information on the 9th edition is available on the website www.quemaoclass.com.
