Yellow Alert Issued for Rough Seas This Thursday
Waves of more than 4 meters are expected, coinciding with a high tide coefficient due to the full moon.
The state meteorological agency has issued a yellow warning for coastal phenomena on the island of Fuerteventura for the upcoming Thursday. Forecasts indicate:
- A combined sea from the north of around 4 meters, with a background sea from the north or northwest exceeding 3 meters.
- High wave periods of roughly 16 seconds.
Precaution is strongly advised, especially along the north and west coasts, which will be the most exposed areas. The greatest risk will occur at the peaks of high tide:
- 00:14 (early morning)
- 12:37 (midday)
The trade wind will continue to blow strongly, increasing the danger of approaching the shoreline. Swimmers are urged to exercise great caution.
High tide coefficient at midday.
