Canary Islands Champions
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura welcomed the Island Women's Under‑14 Futsal Team, who were crowned regional champions at the Canary Islands School‑Age Championships organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands and the inter‑island football federations.
The Majorero players secured the title for the second consecutive year. They were received by Cabildo President Lola García, Sports Councilor Luis González, as well as the spokespersons of AM‑CC Nuria Cabrera and NC‑FAC Sonia Álamo.
Lola García thanked “the involvement and support of families as well as the island and regional federations, and of the players for what they have demonstrated.”
“It is important that people who practice sport receive the recognition they deserve, as they have placed Majorero futsal at the highest level.”
Luis González congratulated the Majorera selection: “I had the opportunity to accompany them in training, as well as in the preliminary phase and the final, and I am proud of what they have achieved, giving us a spectacular final.”
The island Cabildo also presented an award to the women's futsal coach Manuel Rodríguez, who expressed gratitude to the parents “who are the ones who move these athletes,” as well as to all the players and to the Cabildo for its support.
