Civil Guard finds Katty’s body and arrests her son
The Civil Guard located the corpse of Katty Ossterlinck, a 56‑year‑old resident of Corralejo, on Friday. Katty had been missing since the previous Sunday, and her son was arrested as the main suspect, according to Canarias 7.
Katty was last seen in Corralejo, and her disappearance was reported on May 4. Since then, a island‑wide search operation has been underway.
According to the authorities, her body was found on Friday morning in the Zurita environmental complex, an area where investigators had focused part of their inquiries in recent days.
At the same time, Judicial Police officers detained the victim’s son, who is currently considered the primary suspect in her death.
The investigation remains open. No official cause of death has been released yet, and details about the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident are still pending. Katty’s body has been transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine for an autopsy that will determine the exact cause of death.
