Dust haze returns to Fuerteventura on Tuesday

All signs point to a low impact; the dust is expected to dissipate from Thursday onward.

The influence of the Saharan ridge over Fuerteventura will become noticeable from Tuesday, the 31st, bringing:

  • Easterly winds
  • Rising temperatures
  • Dust (calima) aloft, denser over the southern part of the island

From Thursday, the wind is expected to shift slightly northward, and the dust will drift toward the southern Canary Islands.

Strong Northeast Winds This Sunday and Monday

  • Sunday & Monday: Strong northeast winds.
  • Tuesday: The trade wind (alisio) loses intensity as the Saharan ridge dominates, bringing heat and dust for at least two days.
  • Thursday & Friday: Clear skies and stable temperatures.
  • Weekend: Easterly winds return, with temperatures on the rise.

Safety note: Coastal areas, especially those facing north and west, should exercise great caution. The swell will be variable but will not fall below two meters in these zones.
