Education Department earmarks €553,000 to roof CEIP Cristóbal García
The Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports Department of the Government of the Canary Islands has awarded 552,654.75 euros for the construction of a roof over the sports field of the Centro de Educación Infantil y Primaria (CEIP) Cristóbal García Blairzy in Tuineje, Fuerteventura.
The project aims to improve the usability of this outdoor space, especially during periods of high temperatures and intense solar radiation, according to a press release from the regional government.
“I am convinced that these investments represent an important boost for schools whose courtyards and fields are essential in daily life,” said Iván G. Carro, Director General of Infrastructures and Educational Equipment.
“The investment addresses a growing need in the archipelago: providing educational facilities with shaded areas that allow physical and academic activities to continue under optimal conditions in the face of climate change.”
