Fuerteventura health centers adopt the Cabildo and Adivia Accessibility Seal

The health centers of Fuerteventura will be incorporated into the Universal Accessibility Seal “José Gómez”, an initiative driven by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Association of Visually and Audibly Disabled People (Adivia) to promote more inclusive and accessible spaces across the island.

Accessibility Counselor of the Cabildo, Carmen Alonso, held a working meeting with Adivia representatives to coordinate actions carried out under their agreement and to review progress on the accessibility seal as well as other inclusion‑related initiatives.

During the meeting, the participants highlighted the addition of the island’s hospital and primary‑care centers to the seal. A deployment plan is now being drafted, covering assessment, technical advice, training and awareness‑raising on disability and universal accessibility.

Both the Cabildo and Adivia thanked the Fuerteventura Health Authority for its collaboration in joining the initiative.

“Having an accessibility distinction on the island is essential,” Carmen Alonso emphasized, urging public establishments and spaces to become part of this inclusive network.

Adivia reminded interested entities that they can apply for the seal through a dedicated online form.

The agreement also maintains the Island Information Point on Disability, Accessibility and Dependency, managed by Adivia in Puerto del Rosario, which provides guidance and support to citizens on related matters.

This collaboration between the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and Adivia is part of a broader series of agreements promoted by the Accessibility Department, which in 2026 allocated €90,000 to various local associations and community groups.
