Fuerteventura loses 6.7% of passengers in 2026

Aena airports in the Canary Islands recorded 18.58 million passengers up to April, a 0.8 % decline compared with the same period last year, according to the operator’s statement.

Overall figures (January–April)

  • Total commercial travelers: 18.5 million
    • Domestic flights: 6.71 million (‑1.1 %)
    • International flights: 11.79 million (‑0.3 %)
  • Aircraft movements: 163,212
  • Cargo transported: 10,483 tonnes (+5.4 %)

April 2026 snapshot

  • Passengers: 4.42 million (‑3.5 % year‑on‑year)
    • Commercial flights: 4.41 million
    • Domestic flights: 1.86 million (+0.7 %)
    • International flights: 2.54 million (‑6.2 %)
  • Aircraft movements: 40,356
  • Cargo transported: 2,565 tonnes
