Inditex reportedly planning Zara closure in Fuerteventura

The popular clothing chain announces the closure of more than 130 stores across the country

The Zara store located in the Las Rotondas Shopping Centre in Puerto del Rosario is slated to close its doors at the beginning of next year, according to sources close to the centre’s operations.

If carried out, this closure would leave Fuerteventura without any physical Zara outlet, meaning that from that point onward purchases could only be made through the online store.

The Las Rotondas location is currently the only operating Zara on the island, so its departure would represent a significant shift for regular customers as well as for the island’s retail offering.

Consulted sources indicate that the closure is planned for the early months of 2026 and is driven by the growing demand for online shopping.

These same sources point out that the move is part of a broader strategy to reduce physical spaces, with Zara preparing to shut down more than 130 Inditex stores nationwide.
