Operations halted at Lanzarote airport due to drone presence
The airport remained exposed for roughly forty minutes on Sunday afternoon.
Air traffic controllers announced the suspension of operations—lasting at least an hour—at the César Manrique Guacimeta Airport in Lanzarote.
According to the controllers, the presence of a drone in the area caused waiting traffic to experience safety‑related delays. No flights were reported as having been diverted.
Once the drone was secured, aircraft that had been holding in the vicinity resumed their descents at about 16:40 h.
