SCS Hospitals Provide Inpatients with Special Christmas Menus

The public hospitals of the Canary Health Service (SCS), under the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, will provide special Christmas menus so that patients admitted during the holidays can enjoy festive dishes prepared by the hospital kitchens.

Because patients have different medical conditions, the menus will follow clinical guidelines and be tailored to each individual’s nutritional needs. Meals will be offered in several versions to meet the requirements of hypertensive, diabetic, low‑fat, astringent, or other dietary restrictions.

Christmas Eve (December 24)

  • First course: seafood soup
  • Main course: entrecôte steak with mushroom sauce, “papas fiesta” and broccoli
  • Dessert: nougat (turrón)

Christmas Day (December 25)

  • Main course: stuffed turkey with Spanish sauce and rice
  • Dessert: fresh fruit cocktail
