Temperatures will rise this Monday

Fuerteventura remains under a yellow warning for high temperatures

All signs point to temperatures climbing on Monday, with the upward trend expected to continue at least until Wednesday. On Thursday the pattern will shift as the north wind returns, bringing temperatures more in line with the season.

Currently, a yellow alert has been issued by AEMET for high temperatures, and a pre‑alert has been declared by the Government of the Canary Islands. There is also a warning for strong ultraviolet radiation across this part of the archipelago.

Thermometers could exceed 35 °C in many interior locations of the eastern islands, and the heat is likely to be accompanied by suspended dust.

All authorities advise extreme caution during the peak hours of the day, especially for infants and the elderly, with special emphasis on people suffering from respiratory illnesses.
